NEUTER/SPAY PROGRAM
Everglades Planned Pethood (EPP) provides low-cost neuter/spay services for local families and for the many abandoned or stray animals in our area.
The program relies on donations, mostly from collection jars in local stores, restaurants, and lodgings. Gift items to benefit this effort are for sale in various outlets around town and the main organizer takes part in Art & Crafts sales to raise funds.
Recycling bins for computer, fax, and photocopier ink cartridges are located at the Thrift Shop and City Hall. The proceeds benefit EPP.
Feral cats can be a problem when the population gets out of hand. However, some cats are always needed to keep down vermin. The aim of this program is to maintain the feline numbers in check and to ensure that the cats are healthy.
EPP also helps local householders with family cats and dogs to ensure that they do not breed unwanted litters.
